A Multisensory Installation at Black Forest House 1650
As part of the exhibition and event UNEXPECTED 2025 at Black Forest House 1650 during Art Basel, The Space Between invited visitors into a quiet, contemplative moment— an immersive scented video and sound installation created by photographer Stefan Armbruster in collaboration with PEACE IN THE WILD.

A Meditative Exploration Through Scent
Visitors were invited to slow down and tune in — to let the scent guide perception and attention. The aromatherapeutic qualities of BREATHE infused the space with a sense clarity, refreshment and renewal. It was less an exhibition than a sensory offering — an invitation to experience scent as atmosphere.

In Conversation: Scent, Process, and Perception
As part of the installation, writer and curator Tanja Heuchele hosted a live conversation with Stefan Armbruster and PEACE IN THE WILD founder Kathrin Heller. This dialogue, set within the installation itself, opened up a deeper look into process, perception, and the role of scent in the artistic process.

Why Scent Matters in Art and Everyday Life
At PEACE IN THE WILD, we believe that scent is not an accessory — it’s a way of being present. Whether through immersive installations or daily rituals, our natural blends are created to support emotional wellbeing, stillness, and sensory connection. The Space Between was a living embodiment of this philosophy.
